Aramco Resume Format: What Actually Passes ATS Screening
Saudi Aramco and many of its contractors route applications through enterprise ATS software. A clean, single-column CV with clear dates and role keywords beats a designed PDF.

How Aramco-style screening usually works
Large energy employers in Saudi Arabia typically receive thousands of applications per opening. Recruiter teams lean on ATS parsing first, then human review. If your file cannot be parsed cleanly, you may never reach a hiring manager.
You do not need a fancy template. You need a readable document with standard section headings, Gregorian employment dates, and keywords that match the job posting.
Recommended Aramco resume structure
Keep one column, no tables for the main layout, and no text boxes. Use clear headings such as Summary, Experience, Education, Certifications, and Skills.
- Name and contact details at the top in plain text
- Professional summary of 3 to 5 lines tied to the target role
- Experience listed reverse-chronologically with month and year
- Measurable outcomes where possible (safety, uptime, cost, throughput)
- Education, certifications, and technical skills in separate sections
Formatting rules that matter more than design
Avoid multi-column layouts, graphics-heavy headers, and icons next to contact details. Many ATS parsers misread those elements and drop phone numbers, emails, or whole experience blocks.
Prefer .docx when the portal allows it. If you must upload PDF, export from Word rather than from a design tool, and make sure the text is selectable.
Keywords and Gulf-specific details
Mirror the language in the job description for tools, standards, and role titles. If the posting mentions SAP, HSE, turnaround, or commissioning, use those terms only where they are true for your experience.
If you include Arabic and English job titles, keep both in plain text on the same line where relevant. Add nationality only if the application asks for it or the form requires it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Aramco require a special CV template?
There is no single official public Aramco resume template that every applicant must use. What matters is ATS-readable structure, accurate dates, and role-relevant keywords.
Should I use a photo on an Aramco CV?
Skip the photo unless a specific portal or agency form asks for it. Photos add parse risk and rarely help ATS screening.
